CHIT-CHAT: My Graduation Story

I just had my convocation ceremony recently
Yay!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! *smiles and waves at the crowd* (lol)
I graduated and completed my NYSC two years ago and i'm just convocating, and as much i want to tell you why, let's skip to the fun part of the story.
It was so much fun, taking pictures and relieving the days of university hustle that day. Hugging old pals and guessing how far one has gone with their lives with just one glance. (lol)
Lots of analyzing and foolish comparisons.

You see, i always felt like i didn't do so well and kept wishing for a fresh start.
I spent my fresh year attending lectures for the course i really wanted to study instead of the option my dad  chosed for me, needless to say i had to repeat a year because i failed most of my courses.

Okay!
This is the fun part i was getting to:
In life some of us have been waiting for a glorious trumpet sound to celebrate the mile stones we have achieved. we have waited for parties and awards to judge our progress.
We have waited for the university to organize a convocation ceremony before we actually "graduate".

Let me announce to you; "Don't wait any longer"
You don't need ceremony to prove that you've achieved a thing.
You don't need a second voice to tell you, you've reached your destination. it is your life's journey.
You don't need  a heralding to be convinced that your making progress.

Develop a culture of looking inward more often than outward.
The systems of life may not be favourable but when you know you've made strides, celebrates those ones.

This is not to say that ceremonies don't count, but if that's all your waiting for to acknowledge growth, then your very wrong.

Inwardly, we have so much victories to celebrate, like the first time you published a blog post amidst the fears you felt.
The first time you made a successful business transaction.
The first time you acknowledged that you've been wrong and took a turn the right direction. No one sees that but you must learn to "graduate without ceremonies".

This backlog of negative self-talk might never be completely conquered but if you can settle inwardly and believe the right things then you will be more victorious in your every day life.

Watch it that you don't deny how you feel and become too defensive or too proud. I know there has to be a balance here. Don't be so full of yourself and don't walk around thinking too lowly of yourself.

I do not care how much you've heard this before,"Look inward, celebrate the little things that seem very little". They matter more!!
